Senpais

I have a habit of giving people code names when I refer to people online. For example: when I say “chingoo” it refers to my best buddy from Uni. Now finishing our seventh week of intern, I have given a few seniors code names, but not all of them yet..I haven’t figured out what to call the rest at the moment.

1. Nice Senpai (senpai = senior in Japanese)
Nice senpai is awesome! She’s like my fav person in the office aside from my friends! She’s like the best senior EVER! Like I’m serious! Best senior ever! I like her a lot. We were on the same team in my first fieldwork and she taught me a lot of stuff regarding what they usually do, how things work around the office and whatnots. She’s only a year older than us so I think that’s why she clicks with us well. Once, during our very first *no government day in the office, she came and talked/played with us while another friend and I were playing with the comb binding machine. Well, not playing in the sense, we were helping out seniors bind their reports for the clients and she was free so she came over to our tables and chatted while we operated the machine like them slot machines. It was really fun! Nice senpai is probably the only person that I will automatically answer “yes I’m super free, what can I do for you?” if she asks “are you free? Can you help me with something?”  or normally if she wants us to do something new she would ask “are you guys free? Wanna learn how to play with the ___ machine?” haha it’s really fun with her around.

2. Leader Senpai
Leader senpai, at first glance, may look a bit intimidating but she’s really nice and a really good teacher. I call her leader senpai because she was our team leader during our first fieldwork.

3. Annoying Senpai
Annoying senpai cannot stop talking, like for serious, he cannot stop talking. I got so annoyed with him during our first fieldwork I seriously wanted to strangle him in the car. Enough said.

4. Noob Face Senpai
As the name suggests, this senpai face is really noob face. Like seriously, noob faced. We first saw him on our first day when we were having breakfast before going up to the office. We were whispering among ourselves that he might be another intern like us because he seriously looked like one. Spectacles, backpack, neck tie and the whole shebang! Mana tau, when we got to the office, he was a senior. Sien diao straight away haha he’s almost as annoying as Annoying senpai in the sense that he cannot stop hitting on my friend. He has all these really lame borderline disgusting pick-up lines and he cannot shut up like for five minutes. They were tolerable in the beginning but nowadays, they’re just plain disgusting. Pretty sure he’s not being serious but still, if you hear it every single day you would get annoyed by it.

5. Same name senpai
Well, haha this senpai and I have almost the same name, just that his name is “Yi” while mine is “Ying”. I get confused most of the time because I don’t know if the other senpais are calling him or are they calling me or calling him. He’s probably like the guy senpai that gives off the nicest vibe. The other guy senpais in the office are either taken or super 讨人厌 (Tǎo rén yàn). Even my friend agrees
“if la, let’s say la I had to date anybody in the office, I would pick him lor cz he’s the nicest d”

That’s all I got for now. I haven’t given everybody yet. All in all, my office is pretty casual and we’re pretty carefree most of the time, which is nice because it’s totally my style. I really like the seniors a lot (except for number 3 and number 4, I can do without seeing the two of them ever)
