Caramel Coffee - Jessica Jung & Tiffany Hwang

I think most people my age (1992-er) had already started drinking coffee years ago when they were in secondary school, desperately trying to keep themselves awake for exam cramming purposes. Or some just drink it because they’re already addicted to the caffeine.

Unlike them, I have yet to drink coffee on a regular basis. The last time I touched coffee was almost ten years ago when I was ten. It was during an outdoor camp, OBS the mini version.

It was a 3D2N camp, in the morning after our morning exercise we have breakfast. Of course, for a camp whose participants consist of kids below the age of 12, you’d think they would serve Milo instead. But no, they served Nescafe. And when I complained to the instructors about it, they gave me the reason of ‘it is easier to wake us up with coffee than Milo’. Man, I was so pissed.

And you know what’s the stupidest part, the next year when I visited the camp, they served Milo. Babi dao~!

So this is my coffee story

Dinner

Wednesday

Hey girl, dinner?

Sure ^^ 7 as usual?

Yup! See ya then:)

Things were so much simpler, weren’t they? Each message received was a message that I can trust and rely on unlike what I experience now…

Do you want to have dinner later?

Sure. What time? My class ends at 6.

My class finishes at 5. Later when your class finish, you give me a call, we’ll see then.

Ok…

So? are we going for dinner or what?

I don’t know la, I’m about to take a shower now. Where are you?

I’m on my way back from class. What bout later at 6.30pm?

Ok, I’ll see you then.

See the difference? Can’t? let me give you another example.

Haiz..tonight dinner?

Not today, tomorrow?

Yea, sure.

So is dinner today on?

I’ll confirm with you later.

I’m still in class now, and my sister might be bringing me to Ipoh later.

Oh, then you go ahead.

Get what I mean now?

And we don’t even have a lot of things to talk about during dinner either. Seriously, we run out of topics really quick and he never listens. He would go on and on and…aigoo *shakes head*

基本上

You know, I’ve always wondered how it was like, to be stuck in a place where you barely understood what they said and signboards were of no use. Today I had that experience, though I didn’t go anywhere far in particular, only a certain house at the other end of my row.

I went to watch a movie at my friend’s house today, something which I haven’t done in almost 6months. The last time it happened, it was at night and also a horror themed movie night but this time, it was in the afternoon and we watched a Thai horror movie, with 2 of my friends.

Ok, now let’s do some simple maths.

Thai movie = PPS

PPS = Chinese sub

Chinese sub = blur

Ok, now connect them. We watched the movie on PPS, so Thai movie = PPS = Chinese sub = blur. (yea i know it doesn't make sense=) )

Haha yea that’s was what happened this afternoon. When the Chinese subs came out we already burst laughing and when my friend said later we’ll end up screaming then ask what the feller said? We laughed even harder!! I in particular, didn’t stop laughing until almost 10minutes into the movie.

So in the end, another friend of mine ended up being the translator as she read the subs line by line throughout the whole movie (almost 2hours) and explained the more difficult words to us bananas. It was so much fun that I didn’t find the movie scary at all. Ok yes, it was gory but definitely not that scary, up to the point that I hide behind somebody.

Maybe the fact that we watched it in the afternoon made it less scary, and not to mention one of my friend was already watching it for the second time and every time she hides, something was bound to show up so I had some time to prepare for it.

Honestly, she screamed more often than we did. LOL!!!

Yea, I have a weird habit of not liking to put names in my posts but you can guess who is who right? haha!

Lazy

It was a long and tiring day for all of us. We started at 8 in the morning and it was very well past midnight and yet, we were not in bed. Well technically we were but we weren’t asleep. We were chatting and I was already sprawled on my bed, but turned to my side to face my friends, using my right arm to support my head. Somehow in the middle of all the talking and laughing, Bruno Mars’ The Lazy Song popped up and I couldn’t help but think..

Today I don’t feel like doing anything

I walked the whole town today..more like drove around the whole town

I just want to lay in my bed

I woke up at 7am T^T

Yea it was tiring being a host, but hey it sure was fun!

With One Eye Closed

This is so not good!!

A brunette thought to herself as she struggled to keep her eyes open during class.

It’s only been like what, 30minutes? Isn’t it a bit too fast to be feeling sleepy?

A yawn escaped and she rubbed her watery and tired eyes.

It was her 1st week back in campus, the new semester just started and the group of friends was reunited after a 2week break. They took their seat at what had become their usual seats in any class, the 3rd or 4th row in the hall.

The lecturer had begun the introductions to the subject and already started with the first lesson. With each passing slide, the brunette found it increasingly difficult to keep awake and her hungry stomach was not helping either.

It didn’t occur to her that she just had breakfast about an hour and a half ago, neither did the fact that she had only sat in the hall for less than 40minutes. Perhaps it did but it didn’t bother her. All she knew that, the class was a big bore and that she was hungry.

This is not good…

She leaned forward from her seat and rested her chin on her left palm while her right hand was holding her pen which was already making doodles on her notes.

‘Doodling again?!’ her friend whispered.

She smiled and replied ‘I can’t help it.’ then she went back to doodling.

After doodling, she turned her head from side to side, looking at her friends sitting further away. Some were listening tentatively to the lecturer, some not paying attention and some just like herself, struggling to keep awake.

Letting out a sigh, she turned back to the front, looking at the slide being projected on the screen. To be honest, it barely interests her. Though it can be said that nothing they learnt interested her. She found the entire class an utter boredom which she had to endure for the remaining 13weeks of the semester, something which she had done again and again throughout her schooling life.

Huffing in frustration of being stuck in a boring class, she turned back to her friend with droopy eyes.

‘How can you be yawning and feeling sleepy when the lecturer is so strict and fierce?’ she questioned in disbelief.

She merely shrugged and continued to stare blankly at the slides, trying to absorb whatever the lecturer was babbling about and hopefully understood something before the class ended.

My life, thank you very much.
