Hey, yes I know it’s been almost two weeks since my last
post and I’m sorry. I got really busy over the long weekend and it didn’t seem
like a good time to be writing a blog post when you have your mother calling
for you to either go help out in the kitchen or your sister driving you off the
Great Wall of China.
This weekend will mark my first weekend here in Kampar for
the year. Honestly I prefer spending the weekend here though it’s pretty
mundane. Weekends here are actually very relaxing.
Why? Well, for starters you’re alone in your dorm room, you
get to wake up whatever time you want without having an irritating sibling wake
you up when it’s nearing lunch, you get to do whatever you want at your own
pace without having a mother to dictate your daily schedule for you, you get to
plan and actually execute whatever things you have planned for the day instead
of having a mother assume that you will be ever so willing to do trivial things
for her like looking after her swimming kids and most of all, you get to enjoy
some quality “me time” without being interrupted.
The list can go on and on as to why I prefer to stay in the
dorms for the weekend. To be very honest I’m not a very big fan of going home
the end of every week. Yes I can already see you guys yelling at me
“YE WHO GETS TO GO HOME EVERY WEEK SHOULD APPRECIATE THY
CHANCE!!!!!!”
But please, if you know how my family functions beneath the
exterior that you see, you would understand why I say so. For years I have
dreamed of leaving that house and now that I’m actually out I would like to
stay out for as long as I can before I go back.
I know, I’m weird but hey, I’ve long accepted the fact that I
am..slightly queer because there’s this concept that I came up with myself
“if I turned out the same as everybody else, the world would
be a very boring place”
So why be like everybody else when you can be yourself?
“If you compare
yourself to anyone in this world, you are insulting yourself”
Sheetal Sheth
So enough about that, let’s move on.
The annual pre-CNY heat wave is here and I don’t know about
you guys but I do not like it at all. Every single year we, students here in Kampar,
toil under the hot sun for almost a whole semester before it gradually starts
to cool when reaching the second half of the year and I hate it every single
time.
It eats away our driving force to work and it makes us lazy.
We don’t want to move because it’s hot and it’ll make up sweaty and sticky. We just
want to stay indoors and not move, like seriously. Even moving about in my dorm
room is becoming a chore. Well, at least now that I’ve cleaned the fan it’s
actually more cooling.
We’re working on our Final Year Project now and I’m pretty
happy to be in a group with laid back but willing to work people. They make
things less stressful than it is. We laugh and joke but we sort of manage to
get things done. I really like them a lot. They put my mind at ease but not
after they unofficially announced that I was the leader. Haha well then if I’m
going to be the leader then I’ll just be the undisputed one.
Hopefully it would
not cause a mutiny or else out grades will literally go down the drain.
Anyway, I think this post is long enough now ey?
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you guys next time. Oh and I
would like to suggest following me on twitter to keep up with regular updates
about me queer life. 140 characters can say a lot about a person. Ever consider
starting a twitter account? =]
Enjoy your weekend!
