Intro or Extro?

Wow two posts in one day! Lol I haven’t done that in a very long time now have I?

Well, I found THIS post and I wanted to share it out with you guys.

Finish reading? So now here’s the question: are you an introvert? I now know that I am after reading that list. Pretty impressive list don’t you think so? I totally agree with it. maybe some of you extroverts don’t but it’s ok..

i’ve picked out some points that applies to me best from the 23:

2: you go to parties, but not to meet people

“ At a party, most introverts would rather spend time with people they already know and feel comfortable around.”

That there is so true. It’s a huge burden to have to mingle with everybody, which was why I was rather reluctant to attend the reunion a few weeks back. I know it was not to “meet new people” since we were all classmates before but the thought of having to mingle was the one that threw me off. Personally, I would prefer a small little gathering of about ten. That would suffice for me. Needless to say I went for that reunion and true enough to the above sentence, I ended up talking with three people the whole night, out of the 20 something that came.

3: you often feel alone in a crowd

"We might let friends or activities pick us, rather than extending our own invitations." Dembling

That is so true..really, when in a crowd, we really would just like to keep to ourselves and mind out own business. I myself would rather not reach out or go out of my way to participate but if somebody were to pull me into an activity, I would most likely participate. It’s..rather..terrifying really..it really is..

6: you’re easily distracted

Hahahahaha omg I cannot tell you how much this point applies to me lololol let’s face it guys, I get distracted super easily

7: downtime doesn’t feel unproductive to you

Omg yes! I super love downtime, or as I like to call it: Me time.

“One of the most fundamental characteristics of introverts is that they need time alone to recharge their batteries.”

Yup yup! Couldn’t agree more. Seriously, I love my time alone. I get to do whatever I want. You can leave me home alone for an entire day and I’ll never be restless.

10: you start to shut down after you’ve been active for too long

Like seriously, especially if I’m suddenly loaded with too many things to do. I just shut down, like that /snaps fingers/ I’ll be like, just sitting there staring off into space or just minding my business, not talking unless directly spoken to or sometimes, I don’t even care what people beside me are talking about, I just zone out and stare off into space.

11 -> 16

All true.

Well for 11, not so much as “being in a relationship” but all of my close friends are hyper extroverts which is why I enjoy their company a lot. They do all the hyper and all the talking while I can just chill and be comfortable.

21: You’ve been told to “come out of your shell.”

I’ve never actually been told that but I have been told that I need to get out of my comfort zone, food wise, and try new things. Actually the exact words are

“ah girl ah..you need to find somebody who can get you out from your comfort zone and also help you finish the stuff that you don’t like on your plate, like these onions”

Yup..lol

22: you are a writer

Hahahahahaha

23: you alternate between phases of work and solitude and periods of social activity

Yup yup. Like in one of the points above, I really do need some me time to recharge. Even if it’s like just one or two hours at night before I go to bed, it’s enough. Then I’m as good as new the next day to play and stuff haha

I don't know why, but I'm really happy to find out that I'm an introvert at heart. It feels really good to come to that realisation that you are not what you have always thought you are. It's like, you've found a piece of yourself and I've been in a really good mood the whole day so this just adds up to the good mood points =]

So..what are you guys like? Any points that applies to you guys? =]

Rants and Eye Contact

You just seem like a person who listens very well.

A friend of mine told me that when I told her that people seem to like to pour their rants to me. We had lunch in the cafeteria today, or actually I had lunch while she accompanied me, and the stall’s boss came and chat with us. He’s like our friend now haha he thought me friend’s sister ERT back in school so we’re quite well acquainted (damn his food is super awesome). He was talking about the problems that came up with the restaurant he’s partnering in Ipoh and boy..was it a long rant. If I didn’t get that phone call and leave early he would’ve continued talking.

It has happened many times before, people would just start talking and somehow I would be the only one left there to listen. I don’t mind listening, really. It feels nice to be able to be there for that person, even if it’s just me sitting there and listening to them rant. It feels nice. I obviously cannot do anything to help with whatever they’re rambling about but at least I can listen and let them vent. I think that helps in a way. People can release a bit of frustration or whatever by venting right? So, in a way I am helping. In a way…right? Hahaha

Or if that person has a story to tell or something. Once during Chinese New Year, I asked my uncle about internship and which/what type of company I should go to and oh my goodness, I was stuck there listening to him for almost an hour I tell you. I didn’t mind it because I was the one who started the conversation in the first place so I just let him talk, nodding and giving responses when necessary. I think I can add that to my short list of skills: Able to act like I’m paying attention and giving appropriate responses at appropriate times. A good skill to have, no?

People usually think I’m paying attention to what they say because I maintain eye contact with them so they keep talking and talking and talking when I have no idea what they’re talking about. Of course, I use that with discretion, I don’t pretend all the time. Sometimes I really am interested in what the other person has to say so I pay attention for real. So that’s where/how I learnt that eye contact is very important in any conversation. I’ve also learnt that using that on lecturers during class is super effective in not getting the lecturer to pick you to answer questions. It works I tell you! It really works. Just maintain eye contact with the lecturer and he/she will never ask you to answer questions. Seriously, go try it. They never will because they always aim at those who are trying to siam XD

Though..I have to say I got caught once. The lecturer called me to answer and I said I didn’t know.

“You’re not paying attention, are you? Your mind was someplace else, right?”

“Yes..”

“Good, at least you’re honest”

Hehehe  ok so it doesn’t really work all the time but it does most  of the time haha! But seriously, go try it out and see

Catch My Breath

thank you, that's like one of the most motivating thing anybody has ever said to me about writing.

Itching

I want to write something but I don’t know what to write. I want to write another story but my mind cannot churn out a plot strong enough to stand on its own as a one shot. I want to write about last night’s events but I was not conscious enough nor was I aware enough of the things going on beyond my peripheral vision to say anything about it.

I have a plot in my head but I don’t know how to start it. I suppose that would go to my growing folder of unfinished stories. You’d be surprised at how big the folder is. Each Word file is only about two pages long and then I stop writing.

I want to write something new. I want to present you guys something new. Writing the same boring things day in and out is boring and I’m sure you guys are getting tired of reading the same boring shit every time. I want, desperately, to impress a person who has long ago marked my writing as boring. But I’m too big of a coward to do so.

I envy those who have spun countless of words effortlessly and are capable of creating plot twists to rival that of those Taiwanese Hokkien dramas. Somebody once told me that the “wow” factor in writing comes from experience. But I beg to differ. The “wow” factor obviously comes from one’s command in the language and how broad one’s vocabulary bank is.

Mine isn’t very big at all. I pick up one or two words once in a while in my reading. I spend hours a day reading, chapter after chapter. I’ve been reading non-stop since SPM was over. I’ve exhausted my initial story bank and have moved on to numerous titles, trying to satisfy my hunger for good and well written stories. But they’re hard to find. Even harder that looking for a parking spot last night.

Anyway, it seems this rant is long enough so I shall stop. At least I’ve written something. I think I’m having a “typing withdrawal”, if there’s even anything like that. I like to type and after so much of typing I’ve done this semester, to suddenly stop because all my assignments are done, I guess my fingers are just itching for hammer the keys like I always do when I type. My keyboard has taken a lot of abuse since I bought it. don’t worry man /sayangs laptop/ just wait till the year is over and I’ll let you retire.

MV

Rainie Yang's new mv is out!!!! ;LKSAJ;DJHKJDHASKLJFHLKAJSHFKJHADSJHASFGD

oh the excitement!!!!!!

i've been waiting for this ever since her photo shooting bts video from Germany was uploaded a few weeks ago and now it's out!!!

what can i say besides this mv is so Rainie?!! this is so Yang Chenglin seriously hahahaha it reminds me a lot of her Longing For mv, which IMHO is another uber awesome song that i highly recommend you guys checking out (which you can do so here) see i so nice right some more provide link for you all XDDDD sorry i'm a bit delirious now hahahahaha

so in my perspective, i think that the theme of this music video is about how love exists in the midst of chaos and destruction. in the mv we see three couples kissing in three different settings. one were being chased by soldiers, the other were in the middle of a mini mart robbery while the last were in the middle of a demolition of an old building. i kinda like that theme. it's like telling you not to give up because if you look properly, love is there, regardless the situation you're in.

i've also taken the liberty to search for the English translations of the lyrics for this song. i found one but it isn't very well translated but it'll do for now. better translations usually surface when the physical album is released, which isn't for another two weeks.

you can check it out here

:DDDDD now excuse me while i replay the mv over and over XDD
