Well, that was a long title wasn't it? haha wrote this in..2010 i think?

I felt as though everything in my brain had just crashed and was rebooted into something totally out of the ordinary. I thought I ears deceived me at first but then he held my left hand and slid the ring onto my ring finger. I couldn’t help but burst into tears of joy. After so many years he finally asked me the question which I had been waiting for all this while. It was a moment which I will never forget.
Later, I found out he even planned our wedding! This is all quite sudden. But I’m not complaining. The person I love most has done so much for me. I feel almost bad for not having to do anything at all. He wouldn’t let me.
‘The bride shouldn’t do anything. The groom should take care of business.’
He said proudly as he wrapped his left arm around my waist.
‘Since when did you become so responsible?’
‘Since we started!’
He said while grinning like an idiot.
I couldn’t help but chuckle at his facial expression. He’s a total dork.
‘But I feel really bad having you do all the running around for our big day. It’s OUR big day, so we should do the preparations together.’ I tried to convince him into letting me help.
‘Hmm, ok. Tell you what, I’ll let you pick out our wedding theme and attire. I know you had your eye on that pale pink wedding gown on display at the bridal studio down town. Am I correct?’
His grin got bigger.
‘You know me too well. That’s all I can do? Are you going to do the rest yourself? If so I won’t allow it!’
‘Yup; I said I’ll handle everything, didn’t I? You don’t have to worry about me tiring myself out one bit. I’ll ask our friends to help out if it’ll stop you from worrying so much. I’m sure the girls would be more than happy to help us in our preparations. They love events like this. Remember the previous wedding in our group? It was a huge success!’
Of course, how can I forget Jessica and Max’s wedding. It was marvelous so as to say. It was a garden wedding, filled with every type of flower imaginable. All of them in full bloom, anticipating the bride as she walked down the garden aisle. All eyes were on her. Jessica simply looked amazing on her wedding day. Not to say that she doesn’t on every other day but you get what I mean.
‘What are you smiling at?’
His voice snapped me out of my reminiscence.
‘What were you thinking about? Staring into space and smiling by yourself and you call me a dork.’
‘I was just thinking about Jessi’s wedding day. We sure did a great job planning it. Jessi is so lucky to have a husband like Max. I’m so jealous!’
I said that on purpose, of course. *laughs*
‘Yah! Are you saying you prefer Max over me? I’m romantic too you know. Just that I don’t show it out as often as he does!’
‘I was only teasing you. Don’t be mad. You know I love you right?’
I said as I poked his right cheek.
‘hmph, well, you sure have a funny way of saying it.’
He unwrap his arm and walked off.
‘Oh c'mon, don’t get angry, I was only teasing you. Yah!!’
I chased after him, though he wasn’t running, but he did start to when he turned around and saw me coming towards her.
‘Come back, stop running. I’m wearing heels! Do you want your fiancĂ© to trip and fall?’
He stopped. I knew he would. But to my surprised, he simply said
‘Take them off and come get me’ before sticking his tongue out like a little kid and resumed his little run.
“Aish, you are so going to get it from me once I catch you!’
I lost her in the crowd. I took out my phone and dialed his number.
‘Where are you, buster?!!'
‘The last place you’ll think to look for me’
That’s all he said before he hung up.
‘Wha..??’
I cannot believe he hung up on me like that! He’s so dead once I find him. But the problem is, where can I find him? Where is the last place I’ll think to look?
Oh! I think I know where he is. I smiled in satisfaction as I went off to his location.
**
‘Wow, I cannot believe she found you so soon’ Sunny said as she saw me entering her bridal studio.
‘My girl’s a genius’ I heard him say as he opened his arms to welcome me.
‘Don’t’ you ever run off like that again, buster. I was really worried.’ I started to whine.
‘Ok, ok. Come on. Let’s pick out our wedding attire.’
He gave me a peck after finishing.
‘Get a room you two.’
‘Oh, Max, glad you and Jess can come by and give us your opinions. After all, you two got experience picking these out’
He pointed at the gowns hanging in the studio.
‘Yah, you’re making us sound old. We only got married a few months back you know.’
Jessica said as she shot a not-so-icy glare.
Guess being married toned her down a bit?
‘Come on you guys, I’m not going to sit here all day watching you lovebirds have trivial quarrels. Let’s get down to business!’ Sunny declared out of nowhere.
**
I tried out first.
Sunny and Jessica pulled me into a room filled with wedding dresses and gowns. They were all so pretty and I wanted to try them all but I knew time won’t allow me to. So I had to make wise decisions.
After changing, I stepped out and did a little catwalk for the two guy waiting outside to comment.
‘So, what do you think?’
‘Too long, you’ll be sweeping the floor with it’
'Yup, bet the place is gonna be dust-less by the time your wedding is over'
The two of them high fived and I rolled my eyes at how childish those two grown men were.
One by one I tried, went out to show them, went back in to change and repeat process for a couple of hours. Who knew it was so tiring! I remembered Jessica was here for almost a whole day looking for her perfect wedding dress.
He was thinking hard to comment on each piece I wore when he finally thought of something and called for Sunny.
‘Sunny, let her try on the pink one on display!’ he pointed towards the one I’ve been admiring for a while now.
Sunny took it off the mannequin and went into the fitting room to help me with it. Since its new arrival, I was super careful handling it as Sunny carefully help me put it on.
‘It’s perfect! Sunny, we’ll take this one!’
He shouted almost immediately after I stepped out of the fitting room.
‘Ok, now it’s my turn.'
**
The day we waited for has finally arrived!
He was particularly busy that day entertaining friends and family during the ceremony in the church. I felt bad for him but he insisted I did not need to help.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I saw a huge smile plastered across my face. I’ve been smiling like that for a few hours now since this morning.
‘Steph, if you smile some more, your face will be permanently frozen in that position’
Jessica just loves to tease me, doesn’t she?
‘Jessi, if I remembered correctly, you had a huge smile just like this one on your wedding day too you know. And your face was just fine afterwards.’
She couldn’t help but chuckle at my reply, she must have remembered her wedding day.
‘Come on you two, the ceremony is starting soon and we’re not even done with make-up. We can’t let everyone see Steph like this with her make-up half done.’
Sunny-ah, you worry too much. Everything is going to be perfectly fine.
‘Hey ladies!’
His head suddenly popped out from behind the door.
‘Yah! Stop doing that! I could have accidently smudged Steph’s make up!’
‘Oops, sorry about that. Just popping by to check up on things, that’s all.’
‘Honey, everything is fine. How’s things on your side?’
‘Going smoothly if I can say so myself!’
He looked as if he had just saved the world or something like that , as dorky as ever.
‘Alright, that’s enough chit chat for now! I have to get Steph’s make-up before time’s up. Do you want your bride to go out looking like this?’
Sunny said asked as she pointed as my half done make-up.
‘Haha Of course not, I’ll leave her in your capable hands. See you later, dear.’
‘See you’
He disappeared through the door to check up on the pianist and MC.
***
‘Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the bride!’
I heard the MC's announcement and turned to look at my father.
‘Are you ready? Let’s go in and wow the crowd, dear. You look stunning’
‘Thanks daddy. I’m ready. Let’s go’
The doors opened and we stepped into the hall. I could hear people’s comments as they whispered to each other.
‘Wow, Steph looks awesome today’
‘That dress really suits her well’
‘The lucky bastard.’
We reached the altar and my dad handed me off to him.
‘Take good care of her.’
‘Don’t worry uncle, I mean dad, I’ll make sure she’s never sad again’
I was speechless, so as to say. I have never been this happy in my life since I could remember.
‘We’re all gathered here today …..bla bla bla’
That was all we could hear the priest say as we were both lost in each other’s eyes.
Then came the nerve wrecking sentence.
‘If anyone of you object to this marriage, please speak out now or forever hold it within’
He paused, waiting for any response.
Nothing. Thanks goodness!
After that we exchanged our rings and vows.
And after the 'I Do's..
‘You may now kiss the bride’
Our kiss was short. A quick peck and it was done. We didn’t want to have a make out session at the altar like what Max and Jess almost did. Just thinking back makes me feel all fussy inside.
The rest of the day went by smoothly. The dinner reception was wonderful. The atmosphere was just right, friends and family all came together to help us celebrate this joyous occasion. I can’t thank them enough for coming!

‘Hey gorgeous~’
He called as he slowly wrapped his arms around her slim waist. Resting his chin on her shoulder, he gently nip her earlobe.
‘That tickles, buster.’
She said as she turned around to face him.
‘We’ll be together forever right?
‘Far longer than that, my dear. Far longer than that.’
‘Yea?’
'Yea..'
END.
