Well it’s been a while hasn’t it? I am here today to talk about something called common sense and to rant about something which happened about a week ago.
So my Thursdays are gruelling to say the least, I have a two hour lecture from 10am to 12pm then continued by a three hour lecture from 12 to 3. Then I have a three hour break which I will usually hide in the library then another lecture from 6 to 8pm and that lecturer doesn’t usually let us out early.
On a normal Thursday, I get hungry around 11am or so and have a snack at about 12 in between classes and another snack around 1.30 when the lecturer gives us a break in the middle of our three hour lecture. Snacks are usually just some buns and a packet of Dutch Lady Chocolate Milk, not enough to have me stay full till dinner at 8pm so we opt to have dinner at 5pm, something which we have been doing for the past six months.
Then last week, a friend came waltzing by and suggested we have like a reunion dinner at 8pm to celebrate 3 other friends’ birthday, so we agreed, since we haven’t eaten with them for a while. In order for us to eat with them at 8pm, we couldn’t really go out and have dinner at 5 so we didn’t. The three of us were so freaking hungry because we hadn’t eaten anything proper from morning till 8pm+. I personally only had 5 pieces of bread, a cup of milo, a packet of Chocolate milk and 3 nuggets from 8.30am till 8pm. So can you imagine how hungry I was?
Then a housemate of mine who was also going for the meet up asked if I could give her a ride and I hesitantly said yes. She said she would wait at our house after class and her class supposedly finishes at 8 too, according to another friend. I pitied her and agreed to be honest. I asked my two other friends
“as the people who knows me better, do you think I’m going to get pissed waiting for her later?”
And they replied, without hesitation
“yes.”
When class dismissed I was so freaking hungry and we rushed to the car and got our butts moving. I went to pick up another friend first before going back to my place to wait for that person. So I parked the car directly opposite the house and waited. I saw that person’s sister out on the balcony, seemingly to be looking out for something which I thought would be her sister.
Ten freaking minutes passed (and 4 of us were like VERY HUNGRY already at that time) and I saw that person’s sister going back to their room and I got so pissed when I saw that person walking out from the room, to the balcony and glancing down at us in the car. I didn’t even need to think twice before rolling down the windows and shouted in Chinese
“GET DOWN!! NOW!!!”
The three in the car knew I was pissed. I mean who wouldn’t? My food has already been ordered and ready in my fav cafe who-knows how long ago and I was waiting for her for TEN FREAKING MINUTES and she was upstairs in her room, chilling. Can you imagine how pissed I was man?
Like who the world would wait for the person who’s fetching them upstairs, in their room on the second floor? Who?? You tell me who?? A normal person would wait downstairs, outside, near the front gate, NOT UPSTAIRS IN THEIR ROOM!!! Hello, we were born with common sense, use it!!!
Honestly I cannot imagine how pissed I was at that time, even my friends were in disbelief that that person was up in her room when all of us thought she was cycling back from class. She even had time to shower and change while the rest of us were sticky and stinky from being in campus since morning.
Like WTF?!! Just admit it that you were too lazy to cycle all the way to the shop so you decided to take advantage of your housemate who so happens to have a car to drive around. ADMIT IT MAN!!! And I don’t even want your apology. What is the point of apologising when the damage is already done? I’ve resented you in the past but this has taken my resentment to a whole new level.
