Fourth Avenue Cafe - Ty

“Hey..pssk..yea you! Come here for a sec.” a voice from behind him called

“Yes?”

“So I heard you’re engaged with Jessica Jung”

“Yea so? What’s it to you?” the boy questioned him.

“Nothing..nothing” he waved his arms defensively

“I see, is that all? I have a meeting to attend.”

“Er..we’ll chat another day.” He turned and walked away

“Hey, what’s your name and how do you know Jess?” the suddenly possessive boyfriend inquired.

He turned around with a lazy expression and mumbled “Ty Kim” and left.

“I’ll be seeing you around, Ty”

“Hey you..”

“Kim…what do you want now?”

“Ooo what’s with the attitude man?” Ty mocked him, as if they were buddies for a long time when they actually only met yesterday.

“Look, let me cut to the chase. How much do you know about Jessica? Don’t try to lie, I know. And I also know your families set you two up.”

“What the…how did you know and why are you so curious?!” annoyance was written all over him.

“Relax, I’m not trying to steal your girl away from you. I just thought you should know some things about her. I think the two of you look good together.”

“Er..thanks?”

“Jessica hates cucumbers, in fact she’s allergic to them. She can’t even smell them, if not she’ll feel like barfing. She doesn’t like anything made from cucumbers either, like lotions and what not.”

The boy listened attentively as Ty went on.

“She hates it when people wake her up, so you can forget about the whole sweet good morning texts. You’ll just piss her off.”

“Jess is really picky when it comes to trying out new stuff, especially new food. She’s the kind that person who always order the same thing when she goes to a restaurant she frequents. She won’t touch anything unless recommended by somebody she trusts.”

“She also doesn’t eat all those extras like garnishing on food. Garlic, onions..stuff like that. She needs somebody who can get her out of her comfort zone and also help her clear her plate.”

After talking for an hour or so, Ty was interrupted by his phone. He replied the message and turned back to the person sitting across the table from him.

“I gotta go. See ya”

“Wait..how do you know so much about her and why are you telling me those stuff?”

“I’m just an old friend of hers. I don’t have much time left. Please take good care of her.” Ty got up from his seat and jogged away.
