Angels

i've recently (very recently..heck it was like 2hours ago) finished reading a story titled Looking For Angels, hence the title of this post being such. The picture that is above this paragraph is the picture the authors used as the title for the second chapter of the story, Roadtrip. Every chapter has it's own title and it's own picture, and also a meaning behind every title.

I'll be back to talk about this more later (cz i gotta finish revising for my test)

Edit1: back =]

Looking for Angels, one of the very few stories that managed to reduced me to tears. Of course I’m a sucker for plots like this.

It started with two little girls who later end up being best friends. One was bubbly while the other was a dork. The latter made looking for angels her life quest as she wants to find one and make a wish. Her wish was simple; her wish was so that her bubbly friend would be cured of her terminal leukemia/cancer and not has to die.

In their quest to find angels, the two kids did many things, one of which was trespassing their neighbour’s backyard as the dork was adamant that the old man had angels hidden there.

Many years later when her friend had only 3months left to live, one night in the hospital, she met that old man again and he told her that he saw angels in a city far away from where they were. Initially she didn’t buy it but he managed to convince her into taking that trip to that city with her friend, who at that time, was already weak.

The two took off that very night, the start of their journey, their last journey to look for angels.

It’s a beautiful tale of love and friendship. I’ve repeated this line over and over again in my tweets while I was reading this story and even told the authors that when I left them a comment. Honestly, I don’t think there’s any other stories like that out there. It as sweet, it was touching but above all, it was..well beautiful. The lengths at which the dork went to try and save her friend from dying and the silly moments they had when they had with their new found friends.

My favourite part of the story was in fact, Chapter 2: Roadtrip. I don’t know why and when but I love those scenes where they just take off in the night, driving to their destination with nobody else on the road. Just them. I find it very calming and tranquil.

All in all, it’s a story that I won’t mind reading again but of course, I’ll let some time pass before my second read. As I’m typing this, tears are still present even though I finished the story hours ago. It’s the sort of tales that tugs your heart when you recollect bout it.

Simply beautiful.
