Cooking Attempt 4 & 5: Spaghetti and Ching Tang Noodles

today's lunch menu is spaghetti bolognese ala mom (lol). Mom came down to Kampar for a visit last Saturday and brought along some pre-cooked dishes for me, one of them is the spaghetti sauce =]

so all i had to do was just to heat the sauce up:

boil some water (add some salt and oil into the water), then put the pasta in:

and then...tada!!! lunch is served!! :D

tip: it would be good to have some of the water that you used to cook the noodles in on standby for when you are mixing the sauce and the pasta together. if it get's too dry, just add some of that starchy hot water and it'll be lighter and not so 'heavy' (learnt that from Jamie Oliver XD)

***

then came dinner =]

mom brought me a container of soup which she put in the freezer the other day. and guess what?! it froze and i had a good laugh when i emptied the soup block into the rice cooker pot, mainly because i've never seen frozen soup before!!

so i left it in the rice cooker and turned it on, thus letting it thaw on its own. it took about 30-40 minutes for it to completely thaw and to bring it to a boil. put in some cabbage, prawns and fish and let it boil.

then put in the noodles (you can soak them first to soften it a little so that it'll be faster to cook ey) and let it boil again.

and it's done!!

see ya next post!

cheers =]
