“There’s no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people.”
I don’t know where I heard that from but I really like this line. It applies at times and it proves my point very well. let me give you an real life example of what happened earlier (like an hour ago) today.

Yes.

So we need to attend the tutorial on first week la?
From: Zhi
Unless you want to forfeit your attendance, you may skip.
Ok, you cannot blame me for being so rude/harsh/sarcastic with my reply. It was such an obvious answer. Having been in UTAR for one whole year, any student would tell you that attendance is important and you have to go for all the classes.
That is one reason it pissed me, the other is that this matter is not even considered as urgent. All that feller needed to do was to send an sms and then wait for the reply. Don’t we all do that? Unless it is very urgent and damn important only will you call.
The matter of whether is tutorial on or not for the first week of the new semester is considered trivial to me because I myself found out on the first day of class. And mind you, the first day of the new semester starts next Monday, which is like what, next week. So the answer to the question can wait till later.
But no, you wanna know what the feller did? The feller texted me, I didn’t notice as my phone was in ‘shut up mode’ (like my tutor would call it). I was at the movies. Hence, message ignored until the movie ends. Like I said, the matter isn’t urgent is it? So, a reasonable man would obviously not be so in a rush to know the answer.
That person, obviously, was not a reasonable man. That person kept calling and calling to the point that I can’t concentrate on my movie properly. What is the point of being in such a rush to know about something which is not even urgent? If classes starts tomorrow then maybe I can still understand but it starts NEXT week! Which is like what, more than 5days away.
For goodness sake people, if it’s not urgent, a simple text message suffices in delivering your enquiry. If it is important and damn urgent, there is no need for a text, just call the person straight away.
Still, I understand that I cannot fully blame that person since that feller is not aware of my schedule.
You are given something called ‘common sense’ upon your birth, please make use of it well and not let it go to waste.
