Yes, in my heart, your place is secured. No matter how much I will love another, I will always love you more. You have a place in my heart where nothing else can replace; nothing else can possibly take a bigger portion of it, not even SNSD! LOL. I will forever remember you always, in everything that I do, everywhere that I go and even everything that I say. I will always remember you and I know you’ll always be with me, supporting me.

Every parent would always want the best for their child, for their child to grow up to be the best possible person and also for their child to be able to handle the challenges the world is ready to throw at the child. You have done just that, though I am far from being the perfect child. I am now, at 19, a person who I hope you can be proud of, a person who can face the challenges of life, a person who can handle things on her own. But without you, I am and forever will be nothing. Without your support and love, I am nothing.

The meaning of your silent prayers

I know I am far from perfect, that I have made clear a long time ago. There were times when I did stupid things and made silly mistakes, you always forgave me. Still the stubbornness in me will never admit that I was wrong. I think I sort of understand now that being a parent of a rebellious teen is not easy (though I started rebelling quite late), it’s not easy to cope with the mood swings of a teenager and also the rash decisions a teen would make. Most of the time, you let me choose and I can see that sometimes you are disappointed by my choice, thinking that the other alternative was better. I didn’t get that, but now I do.

The one who used to comb my hair, I think of my mom

When was the last time I sat down in front of you and let you tie my hair? I cannot remember, it must’ve been a long time ago since I had short hair most of the time. Were you disappointed that I wasn’t a daughter that you could dress up in pretty clothes and accessories? I wasn’t the typical daughter who loved pink, dresses and other girly stuff. Were you disappointed in me? That I turned out different from the stereotypically portrayed daughter. I’m not sure, I never asked. But still, that will not stop me from becoming the best person I can be. A warm hearted person and all of the above, I will try my best to be a daughter than you can be proud of, a daughter that you can brag about to your friends. I will always try my best for you.

A light in the dark shining your love into my live

When were you not by my side? Ok let’s ignore the fact that I’m no longer at home 24/7. Whenever I’m in trouble, I give you a call and my troubles are gone. You helped shaped and pushed me to who I am today. Thank you.

There are many unsaid words that had accumulated throughout the years, words that I still cannot say, maybe because it is not my nature to do so. Guess I’m just not that kind of a person.

This post is dedicated to my mom and all moms on this special day for moms. It’s not much but it’s the least I can do. I hope this post somehow manage to express what we, daughters, feel. I hope it has done its job.
