That..

More than 10 years ago, whenever my family (maternal) had a family gathering, I would either end up playing with my cousins or with my aunt. Yes, my aunt. She’s my youngest aunt on my mom’s side, about 19 years older than I am ( i just realised that our age gap is my age LOL). She played with me once in a while if she’s back. I tend to cling to her I think, mainly because I wasn’t that close with my older cousin sisters last time, and I didn't get to see her as often as the rest of the family members. Maybe because that was the time she just started working?

Well, that was then.

We rarely get to see her nowadays because she lives in Singapore and is often travelling. She doesn’t come back for Chinese New Year either. We, well I, see her once a year during Qing Ming, which is that time of the year where we visit the graveyard and clean up our late family members’ graves.

I look forward to Qing Ming every year for 2 reasons;

1. Having dim sum breakfast at Da Yu Bin

2. Seeing all the Loh siblings together.

It’s fun seeing my mom with all of her siblings at the table, chatting away and laughing it out as they talk about practically everything under the sun.

And it’s also fun running around the graveyard, setting up the things needed and also talking to my aunt every now and then. I think that little kid is still being clingy because I found myself following her around as we moved from grave to grave.

I see her as a role model, seriously I do. She’s an accountant, and a very successful one if I can say so myself. Having lived in Singapore for I-don’t-know how many years, I think her life is really good. I’m sure she earns a lot, not to mention travels a lot and also participates in sports. She told me she joined a cycling marathon that went all over Singapore (120+km) and it lasted over 6hours. She is so cool! Haha

A playmate and now a role model.

Can’t wait till next year =]
